Here are just a few of the events round and about Inverness to whet your appetite for 2010.

 

24 July 2010: Inverness Highland Games in Bught Park will take place as part of the Inverness Summer Festival. Founded in 1822 the Games are one of the most spectacular traditional Gatherings staged in Scotland and are one of the highlights of any visit to the Highland Capital.

26 - 31 July 2010: Inverness Tattoo will take place at the Northern Meeting Park. Full programme details will be available soon.

1 - 31 August 2010: Scotland's Housing Expo is a great family day out with 52 fantastic houses created with the future in mind and showcase the latest ideas on design and sustainability to promote eco-friendly lifestyles, respectful of natural resources.

4 & 5 August 2010: Black Isle Show at Mannsfield Showground, Muir of Ord. This is the largest agricultural show in the North of Scotland. First

6 & 7 August 2010: Highland Field Sports Fair at Moy Hall The fair offers a diversity of entertainments and activities for all of the family, from creche facilities to archery! The emphasis is on field sports activities with competitions in fly casting, gun dog handling and clay pigeon shooting.

6 & 7 August 2010: Tartan Heart Festival on the Belladrum Estate, by Beauly is an outdoor festival of rock, country, blues and world music and is ideal for all the family.

12 - 15 August 2010: Inverness Book Festival will take place at Eden Court Theatre.

28 August 2010 - Glenurquhart Highland Games at Balirbeg Park, Drumnadrochit, Loch Ness.

3 – 11 September 2010: Blas Traditional Music Festival Venues and dates to be announced.

11 September 2010: First Monster Race. Teams of four run and cycle around the stunning shores of Loch Ness in Britain’s most famous duathlon.

3 October 2010: Loch Ness Marathon plus 5K and 10K River Ness fun runs. The Baxters Loch Ness Marathon takes place along the shores of Loch Ness.
